Family hiking
The perfect start to your family holiday: Simply explore the lovely natural scenery of the Wildschönau on foot! Take a relaxed stroll through the forest and meadows along our family hiking trails together with your loved ones. Centrally located, easy to manage and partly even suitable for prams, the family-friendly trails are ideal for nature lovers of all ages. Cosy guesthouses and rustic alpine huts invite you to take a well-deserved rest. The adventure spots along the way and the picturesque nature all around do the rest to enchant young and old.
Our tip: There is plenty to discover for adventurous hikers on our forest and family trail – from the forest playground with a playground in the woods, a sandpit, wooden figures, swings and so on to the buzzing and humming insect hotels. And for adventurous fresh-air fans, the hike through the Kundl Gorge is ideal: between rugged rock formations and thundering masses of water, you can experience the beauty of the Tirolean mountains up close.

Adventure day at the Schönanger Alm

Take a look behind the scenes and learn interesting details about the production of regional cheeses. For nature lovers, the hut is also the ideal starting point for the next hike. On the family-friendly paths, the stream tempts you to splash around, grassy hills invite you to play, and the Schönanger Alm guesthouse invites you to enjoy culinary delights.
A journey of discovery in the Wood Museum
The Wood Museum in the centre of Auffach brings the natural material to life. On more than 2,000 square metres, a unique labyrinth leads through 39 rooms full of exciting showpieces made of wood. From the Pumuckl tree hut to the traditional factory where visitors can try their hand at carving their own wood – the wood museum delights young and old alike.
The Foisching Deer Park
In the deer park above the Foisching hut in Niederau, you can watch the deer herd – a great place, especially for families. After visiting the animals, why not explore the Tirolean high valley on the family hiking trail.
