Hintertiefentalhof Farm

Excellent beet schnapps, distilled twice a year according to traditional distillation law

Hintertiefentalhof Familie Gruber | © Wildschönau Tourismus

The Hintertiefeltalhof in Oberau is known for producing the unique Krautinger, a schnapps made from turnips, which is exclusively produced in the Wildschönau. Thomas and Lisa Gruber have been distilling this fine spirit twice a year since 2004, following traditional distilling rights. The turnip seeds are carefully grown by themselves, with the help of assistants. The Krautinger has been awarded the title "Krautinger of the Year" four times. The fine schnapps is available for purchase directly from the farm.
