Guided walks in the Wildschönau
It's more fun in a group!
Hiking guides accompany guests five days a week between May and October to the most beautiful places in the Wildschönau.
The guided hiking programme includes hikes of all levels of difficulty. Changes are possible due to weather conditions.
All hikes are included in the Wildschönau Card.
Walking programme from May 13 until October 14, 2024
We take the gondola to the Markbachjoch (1500m). Here you have a magnificent view of the steep peaks of the
Wilder Kaiser and the Wildschönau with its four villages. The fantastic mountain panorama invites you to take a break on one
of the huts along the way, which are renowned for their good home cooking. Descent with the gondola.
Sunrise walk — A different start to the day on the Kragenjoch Mountain in Oberau.
We start in the dark and walk through the silent forest towards the sunrise. Our summit, the Kragenjoch Mountain, is a place of power where we greet the new day together. We‘ll be back in time for breakfast.
FOREST HIKE
Experience the power of the forest
On our journey of discovery into the forest, you will learn interesting facts about the importance and functions of the forest. We immerse ourselves in the forest with all our senses.
We take the gondola up to the Markbachjoch and start with a fantastic view. Passing one of the largest dairy farms in Tirol, we take the Wildschönauer High Trail to the Feldalphorn, one of the most beautiful peaks in the Wildschönau. Hiking guide Gerlinde gives you a fascinating insight into alpine life. We pass several mountain pastures on the way to the Schönanger Alm, where we end the day together with a well deserved drink.
This hike is suitable for all the family. If you like, you can take off your boots and walk barefoot through the moor in the summer months. Filzmoos moor is a protected and extensive swamp area and offers wonderful insights into local flora and fauna. Nearby is the Foisching game park where a herd of tame deer are at home.
Herbal walk to the Hintersalcherhof Farm in Auffach. On the way to the Hintersalcherhof herb farm
we forage for herbs in the woods to have them made into a healthy spread by herb farmer Birgit. Afterwards we visit the
herb garden.
