Almabtrieb - Homecoming Festival
Traditional cattle drive in Auffach (probably) on 20 September 2025
Autumn really is here in the Tyrolean mountains at the latest at the cattle drive and everyone celebrates the end of summer together. Decorated cows are greeted with applause and folk music at midday in Auffach at the foot of the Schatzberg. Guests and locals stroll through the craft and farmers' market and savour Wildschönau delicacies.
There is a colourful programme at the big Wildschönau cattle drive on 20. September from 10:00 to 18:00
The fairground is located at the Schatzbergbahn valley station in the centre of Auffach.
There are interesting handicrafts to marvel at at the craft market.
The local farmers and producers offer their diverse products. The offer ranges from tasty cheese to schnapps specialities.
The Bundesmusikkapelle Auffach opens the Almabtrieb with a procession at 10:00 am.
A music group provides a good atmosphere at the festival site.
Culinary delights are also provided.
The pubs in the village are open.
There is a colourful programme for children.

Admission is free (with the exception of tour groups that do not stay overnight in the Wildschönau)
From 2024, a customs fee will be charged for tour groups in appreciation of the participating farmers. The customs fee is € 100.00 per travel group that registers in advance (at least 14 days in advance) Please register at info@wildschoenau.com stating the travel group and billing address.
Unregistered travel groups must pay € 120.00 on site. Tour groups staying in accommodation in the Wildschönau (Niederau, Oberau, Auffach, Thierbach) are exempt from this fee (Please state the accommodation when registering).
