High Trail Trophy

The hiking highlight in the region is the Wildschönauer Höhenweg.

The Wildschönauer Höhenweg Trophy will take place for the 3rd time on October 11, 2025! The challenge leads over several peaks and rustic alpine pastures to the Schönangeralm. There you can see who was the fastest on the trail! There are attractive prizes for the three fastest individual hikers / trail runners and the three fastest teams!

The event starts at the Markbachjochbahn valley station in Niederau.

Facts about the high-altitude trail

The high-altitude trail is a moderately difficult, red mountain trail and has been awarded the Tyrolean mountain trail seal of approval.

Facts about the route

There is an extended version of the high-altitude trail for participating hikers. The route leads from the Markbachjoch via the Rosskopf, Feldalphorn, Schwaigberghorn and Breitegggern.
Length 15.30 km. 1,000 vertical meters up, 1,250 vertical meters down.

The route for trail runners is currently being developed.
