The first part of our walk takes us to the Boarstadl, a wonderful old farmhouse then further on through the woods passed the “Frauenloch“ a hiding place for women and children during the war.
From here we have beautiful views to the southern end of the valley. On the way to the Achental Alm we leave the open path and make our way through blueberry fields and the mystic forest past deep, dark pools and a forest moor to historical remains of a mill stone quarry and a lime kiln.
We finish our walk on the lovely terrace of the Loya Stub’n restaurant and return to Oberau.
