A popular family mountain is the Kragenjoch above Oberau. The Schönangeralm is located at the end of the valley in Auffach at the foot of the highest mountains such as the Lämpersberg and Breitegg. Many hikes lead directly to the alpine meadows. The Gratlspitz towers in the background of the picturesque village of Thierbach. The Rosskopf in Niederau offers a wonderful view of the Wilder Kaiser. The highlight is the Grosser Beil, the highest of all the Wildschönau mountains.

Die ultimative Belohnung ist wenn man auf dem höchsten Gipfel der Wildschönau, dem Großen Beil auf 2.309 Metern steht!
